Starting point for the hash was in Restelo, near the Sao Francisco Xavier hospital.  The route took Rambos and Wimps up through a wooded [...]]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hash #659 started a bit late, as the hares Sunflower and K2 arrived at the Casino late.  They had taken extra care to ensure there was sufficient confusion on the planned trail.</p><p>Starting point for the hash was in Restelo, near the Sao Francisco Xavier hospital.  The route took Rambos and Wimps up through a wooded area and across Avenida das Descobertas, at which point the runners and walkers split, with runners going north into the Monsanto park area, and coming back down to rejoin the walkers and coming through Parque dos Moinhos de Santana.  Then runners and walkers split with walkers going through the Embassy area of Restelo and the walkers going across the Avenida Marginal and train tracks to run near Torre de Belem, then back under the train tracks at Alges, where they rejoined with the walkers in the lower portion of the Monsanto park near Forte do Alto do Duque.  The Rambos ran approximately 25 kilometers, and the walkers walked approximately 15 kilometers.  These figure might be slightly exagerated, but not by much, as many of the walkers were misled into following the final Rambo loop due to a mis-broken checkpoint.  There were numerous beautiful views of the Tejo River as well as Lisbon.</p><p>There were six virgins:  Bjorn Castegren, Edite Castegren, Carin Castegren, Valerie Edwards, Deborah (missed her last name), and Donal Heffernan.</p><p>Retornados were:  Big Whopper, Depth Charge, Gobbler, Great Balls of Fire, Nearly There, Party Pants, Perfect Pitch, This Won&#8217;t Hurt,Well Preserved, Lorenco Miguenes, Never Ready, Helen Bliss, and Christy Coffee.</p><p>Celebrating Hash Birthdays were:  Bardess (393), Big Jumper (25), Flying Mum (125), Hoochy Coochy Man (40), Ice Pyk (44), Little Jumper (28), Tutu Much (50), Well Preserved (28), and Wanna Bet (230).</p><p>No Names were:  Christy Coffey and Lorenco Miguenes.  At their next Hash, they will earn Hash names.</p><p>A special farewell was noted for Jesse &#8220;Tasmanian Devil&#8221; Coronado, who departs Portugal in the next few weeks for Haiti.  All of the Jesses went into the circle for a special down-down, drinking either tequila or beer.  Or both.</p><p>There were a few misdemeanors but I don&#8217;t remember who they were or what they did.</p><p>A reminder that our next Hash, on Saturday, 29 May, is Red Dress Hash.  Starting point will be Casa Charge (meeting point will still be Casino Estoril).  Hares will be Sunflower and Hoochie Coochie Man.  Male Hashers are required to wear a red dress, under penalty of death and dismemberment (or at least being required to drink more beer).</p><p>A big thanks to all who brought refreshments for Cinco de Mayo &#8211; we enjoyed tequila, margaritas, Corona beer, chips and salsa, white socks, spray-painted hair, and nice mustaches.</p><p>K2</p> ]]></content:encoded> <wfw:commentRss>http://www.lisbonh3.com/2010/05/16/hash-report-659-15-may-2010/feed/</wfw:commentRss> <slash:comments>0</slash:comments> </item> <item><title>Hash Report #658 &#8211; 1 May 2010</title><link>http://www.lisbonh3.com/2010/05/03/hash-report-658-1-may-2010/</link> <comments>http://www.lisbonh3.com/2010/05/03/hash-report-658-1-may-2010/#comments</comments> <pubDate>Mon, 03 May 2010 21:19:20 +0000</pubDate> <dc:creator>K2</dc:creator> <category><![CDATA[Hash Reports]]></category> <guid
isPermaLink="false">http://www.lisbonh3.com/?p=151</guid> <description><![CDATA[Approximately 40 Hashers and a few dogs, after having met at the normal meeting point, that being Casino Estoril, set out for parts unknown, that being Belas.  More specifically, the Belas Country Club (Campo de Golfe).  A few Hashers almost didn&#8217;t make it but joined us just as one of the hares, Detonator (the other [...]]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Approximately 40 Hashers and a few dogs, after having met at the normal meeting point, that being Casino Estoril, set out for parts unknown, that being Belas.  More specifically, the Belas Country Club (Campo de Golfe).  A few Hashers almost didn&#8217;t make it but joined us just as one of the hares, Detonator (the other hare being Basil Fawlty) had finished explaining the trail markings which would be (mis)used on the day&#8217;s Hash.</p><p>Rambos traversed a route consisting of rolling hills, housing developments, and thistles.  They finished the trail just after having experienced a beautiful Hash View of the local area.  The runners finished the course starting at approximately an hour and a half.</p><p>Walkers traversed a different route.  What that route was is not yet exactly clear.  The first few Wimps came in to the On In about 15 or 20 minutes after the Rambos.  Oddly enough, the next few walkers came in to the On In about 10-15 minutes later, from the OPPOSITE DIRECTION!  Could this be due to a shortage of flour?  When asked about the lack of flour used on the Wimps route (rumored to be less than half a kilo for the entire route), and given a choice of responses, they being:</p><p>A &#8211; The goats ate it</p><p>B &#8211; The rain washed it away</p><p>C &#8211; The wind blew it away</p><p>D &#8211; Bicyclists passed by and rubbed it out</p><p>E &#8211; All of the above;</p><p>Basil Fawlty, the Wimp Hare, chose &#8216;E &#8211; All of the above&#8217; as his excuse.  Just at that moment, to prove his point, one of the dogs commenced to eating remnants of flour in the circle.</p><p>During the circle, there were two new-cumers (Hashers of another mother (hash)), one virgin, several retornados, and several birthdays.  In no particular order, they were as follows (see if you can guess which is which):</p><p>Dippy, Quick Drawers, Demir Ametov, Baron Von Arsen, Baron Von Jockstrap, K2, Bjorn Shorn, Mamma Mia, Not In Charge, Cana-Da-Da, Yankee Doo Doo, Voldemort, Tatties, Tasmanian Devil, Chiquitita, Chiquitita (11), Yankee Doo Doo (20), Voldemort (30), Tasmanian Devil (40), K2 (33), Bjorn Shorn (11), Boomerang (225), Mamma Mia (11), Sunflower (44), Super Trooper (11).</p><p>There was one No Name; her earthly name is Amelia Segwick.  As far as we know, she is not Swedish and does not play the cello.</p><p>There were numerous misdemeanors, none of which were for slapping.  Several of which were for usage of cell phones on the trail (Neeps, Ready Steady Stop, Bardess, Picanha, and Not in Charge); unwillingness to wear fashionable Hash t-shirts while Hashing (Detonator, Voldemort, and Basil Fawlty); miscellaneous (K2, Detonator, Hoochy Coochy Man, and Hash Agent).</p><p>Hares for next Hash, #659, 15 May 2010, are Sunflower and K2.  Hares for subsequent Hash, #660, 29 May 2010 (Red Dress Hash), are Hoochy Coochy Man and Depth Charge.</p> ]]></content:encoded> <wfw:commentRss>http://www.lisbonh3.com/2010/05/03/hash-report-658-1-may-2010/feed/</wfw:commentRss> <slash:comments>0</slash:comments> </item> </channel> </rss>
