New Year’s Day Recovery Hash – Sunday, 1 January, 1100, Hared by Boomerang and Confuzeus. Traditionally followed by the On On Lunch at Quinta do Cortador in Cascais, at 1400. Main course and appetizers, wine and water, sobremesa, coffee for 25 euro per person. If you attend the On On Lunch, you do not pay Hash Cash for the Recovery Hash. Also – as an added bonus – if you pay for the lunch, and have not yet received a Hash Mug – we’ll throw one in free of charge. Meal choices = cabrito or bacalhau. More details to follow, but another reminder of the upcoming Summer Solstice Hash – Saturday, 25 June 2011.  Starting point and time to be published soon, but tentatively plan on it being in the general area of the Cidadela/hipodromo in Cascais; you should plan to be there no later than 0550-0555; On-On will be ~0610 (sunrise is at 0614).  Hash Cash for the day will be 10 euro; 5 euro as normal, 5 euro for the breakfast to follow.  Breakfast will follow the circle, and will be at the Vila Gale, just as last year (total cost of the breakfast is 10 euro; the Hash will subsidize the other 5 euro).  Any questions please contact K2.

All Hashers are reminded of the Recovery Day Hash on Saturday, 1 January 2011, meeting at 1100.  There will be a lunch afterwards at 1400.  More details to follow on the lunch.

Nothing to do with the Hash, but there is a Beach Cleanup this Sunday, 31 October, 13.00-16.30 at Guincho.  Meet on the beach side of Restaurante Muchaxo.  I will provide gloves and large bags.  Please bring your own small bags, water, snacks, etc.  You can purchase coffee, drinks, snacks, etc., at the snack bar or the restaurante.

Reminder – Summer Solstice Hash is on Saturday, 26 June, at 05.50.  We will not meet at the Casino, but instead meet at the starting point which is the large gravel parking lot near the hipodromo in Cascais.  The hipodromo is adjacent to Parque Marechal Carmona, on Avenida da Republica.  If you’re still not sure where this is, go to the roundabout near the Cidadela in Cascais.  Avenida da Republica is the one you would take to get to Guincho.  Try these GPS coordinates:  38.694194,-9.423797

On On is at 06.13.  After the Hash, and following the Circle, we will go to breakfast at Vila Gale; this will cost you 10 euro (in addition to the 5 euro Hash Cash).

This Saturday’s Hash (#654, 6 March 2010) will be moderately dog-friendly.  If you bring your dogs, there will be a few opportunities for them to run free, but many places where they will need to be on leashes.  Same with unruly Hashers.  I did notice dogs running free while scouting the location, but they did not appear to be of the vicious variety.

There will be an optional Hash Halt about mid-Hash where you may purchase a small bottle of water for 60 cents; bring coins as it is a vending machine.

It will be quite muddy.  There will be one or two places where you might encounter nettles, particularly for Wimps.  Both Rambos and Wimps will be Hashing in an urban environment for a few minutes.

There will be a few nice Hash Views.

The note on this page advises that the 23 January hash will meet behind Casino Estoril at 13.30; please disregard this.  23 January is an Away Hash in Marvao; the bus will LEAVE the casino at 10.30, so you probably want to be at the casino by 10.00 or so.
